Dear Chamblee Charter High School,
Do you have teachers who were your favorite and ended up being fired? Would you really prefer the best teachers to be fired and have the "none" best teachers in school? Do you want your child to not have the education that you want him/her to have? Well there are gazillions of teachers out in Chicago that are on strike for their rights. Teachers are on strike for several reasons such as; principals are firing the ones that they do not like. Another reason is that, teachers are mad on how the standardized tests depend on their salary. If the teacher’s don’t stop the strike, then students will either decide to drop out of school and end up having the worst life ever!
If the strike were to continue, then both the teachers and students will be affected. not only will they worry about the increase of drop out rates, but other factors as well. One of many reasons would be that Chicago would lose many citizens. Parents would decide to move to another district, where their children will have better opportunities. With this, Chicago, would loose a lot of money, which in the future, they could be bankrupt. Having the kids hinder the peace of the community, because id s higher chance of kids getting into messed up things, such as drugs and violence. Nevertheless, standardized test scores accurately affect the teachers in a way, that if they teach in a affective way, they shouldn’t lose their salary. Which goes back to the starting statement, that if the strike were to continue, then both the students and the teachers would be affected.
According to my personal connections, teachers in our school, the best and the worst, have left and/or have been fired. The same issue is occurring in the whole country. Teachers did a good job on trying to get their rights and going on strike, but they also didn’t do the right thing by not letting the students go to school. It’s not fair how teachers should be able to get fired, depending on what students say. I mean, come one, if a student hates or dislikes a teacher, and they have the chance to show that the teacher is not doing well, and then they will eventually make them get fired.
The attacks on the Chicago strike have harmed many parents and students. Their mission was to attack the education rights. They want the children to have a better education, a bigger class size, and also the unnecessary teacher’s shouldn’t be fired for no dumb reason. It has also attacked Obama and Romney. The teachers just wanted the rights and that is why they wanted the strike. The attack has also harmed many parents, because some of them couldn’t even go to work.
So what? Teachers have been on strike, some people cared, while some didn’t. What I think personally is that, what the teachers did was right. I mean they want the people and the government to help them and associate with them. Teachers just wanted to help the children, the current students and the future students out, and so that is why they went on strike. I understand it has harmed many students and parents in many ways, but I think it would be worth it if the government and/or the society just helped out a little.
